In 1970, Loyang Marine was set up as Tropical Corporation Pte Ltd and specialised in dealing with both commercial and pleasure boats for the Singapore market. In 1985, Loyang Marine was established to take over Galax Yachting Pte Ltd located at 72, Loyang Way. Back then, Galax yachting was the only "modern" marina in Singapore, employing proper launching and retrieving cradles with proper winching gear. It also had the only side-transfer cradle storage system in Singapore. There were altogether about 120 boats on dry storage and about 30 boats on swing moorings. The marina was also focused on providing services such as hull anti-fouling, propeller and drive shaft repair and alignment, carpentry, spray-painting, engines overhaul and fibreglass repairs. During this period, the Company also became the sole dealer for Bayliner Boats, one of the biggest boat builders in the world. This dealership covered the territories of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. From 1985 to 1989, Singapore underwent a serious recession. The Company consolidated and weathered the recession as very few pleasure crafts were sold during that period. Subsequently, Loyang Marine has weathered 3 more recessions; successfully steering through these times of hardships has imbued in the Company a hardened resilience in achieving our goals. Loyang Marine has since expanded its stable of brands and we now represent brands such as Christensen superyachts, Westport superyachts, Selene long range cruisers, Cabo fishing boats and Regal cruisers and yachts. We have since diversified our business, specializing in boat lifting equipment, marina docking systems and marina design and consultancy. With 40 years of experience behind us, we are excited and focused on ensuring that the next 40 years will see us continuing to develop and grow within the marine industry.
