Foam can occur in many applications but can also manifest further downstream of the process. For example at vehicle washing stations or outlets of treatment works into river courses or coastlines. There the foam may not develop until it is agitated by the flow downstream or constant churning of the surf. This means a liquid may look okay when it leaves a works but later it can produce an unsightly pollution incident.
